The forum “Christmas in Europe” is held for the first time in Riga.

The annual event “Christmas in Europe” was first held in Riga, bringing together representatives of sixteen countries under its wing. An international gathering of adepts of hospitality brought together students of the hotel and restaurant business to share the experience of celebrating Christmas.

In spite of the fact that the main emphasis was placed on the secular part of the celebration, the event itself began with worship in the Dome Cathedral. The organizers said that there was no emphasis on a particular denomination, so that no one would feel uncomfortable.

After the service, representatives of all countries under their flags set off to a solemn procession to the Freedom Monument. The column stretched for forty meters: 16 flags, 24 educational institutions – in national costumes and puffed down jackets, wearing clothes comfortable for them at the moment.

The procession was opening the days of hospitality. Further, students will continue to share with each other the experience of celebrating Christmas in different countries.

An interactive exhibition devoted to the culinary Christmas traditions of different countries, the decoration of the Christmas tree and the house and other, purely national features of the Christmas holidays will be held on the fourth and fifth of December in the Riga Technical School of Tourism and Creative Industry.
