1.935 million euros were asked by the Ministry of Transportation for unforeseen expenses related to the repair work of roads and railways damaged during the floods in August this year.

Strong August rains washed away and damaged much of the roads. Damaged roads were both the main and regional importance. This led to an emergency situation, and the liquidation of the consequences of the flooding required 1.345 million euros.

Also, intensive rains on August 23 and 24, resulted in damage of some sections of the railway border of Latvia-Karsava-Rezekne, where erosions and   landslides of the railroad track took place.
