In connection with the event “Līgo, Riga, Līgo, Latvija” in Riga, from 11 pm on 19th June until 6 pm on 25th June, the movement of vehicles (also of bicycles, pedicabs, electric cars and horse carriages) will be closed on some streets and squares, informs The Riga Council.
In connection with the preparation for the celebration of the Ligo in Riga from June 19th to June 25th, the traffic on the embankment of November 11th and parts of the streets of Old Riga will be closed. The traffic will also be closed on the embankment from Stone Bridge to Street Muitas, on some parts from Street Polu Gate to the street Jauniela, on the part of the street Polu gate from the embankment to the Street Pils, on the Street Biskapa gate from Herder Square to the waterfront.
It is forbidden to stop and stand on the embankment on November 11th from Stone Bridge to Street Muitas and on the parallel embankment of the street from the side of Vecriga between the streets of Polu gate and Jauniela. Until 8:00 am on June 23rd, Dome Square and Herdera Laukums (Herder Square) will be closed for traffic.
