The universities will be able to get 7.14 million euros for the development of training programs, the Central Agency for Finance and Treaties (CAFD) told LETA.

Higher educational institutions (with the exception of colleges) can submit applications for the second round of the selection of projects for a program of support from the EU funds developed by the Ministry of Education and Science.

The funding is provided for the implementation of new training programs in the EU languages and the development and licensing of general doctoral programs, their testing and international accreditation.

It is planned that within the second round of the program 10 doctoral programs and 62 programs of training in the EU languages will be developed and accredited, which will close 170 training programs by the end of 2023, thereby reducing their fragmentation.

In the total financing of 7 142 466 euros co-financing from the European Social Fund is 6 071 096, from the state budget – 1 071 370 euros. Applications can be submitted to the CAFD by October 29, 2018.
