Krustpils, 63 in Riga, where the company purchased from the state company Valsts nekustamie īpašumi (VNI)(State Real Estate) the territory of the former prison for 886,500 euros. As Klavina said, the innovation center would have new production premises of Grindeks, which required specific conditions. Also there would be laboratories and a modern logistics center. In the near future, the company would develop a detailed plan for the innovation center, revitalize the surrounding area and calculate the necessary investments.
The former Skirotava prison is located not far from the territory of Grindeks on Str. Krustpils, 53. The enterprise plans to increase its production capacity, therefore took part in an auction organized by VNI auction for the sale of this facility.
At auction was a plot of land with an area of 92,584 square meters and 22 buildings ranging there from 5 to 5456 square meters. Skirotava prison was closed in November 2014.
