The active phase of extinguishing the fire in the forest and on the peat bog in the Valdgala area was completed, and the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) completed its work at the site of the accident.
On Monday, when assessing the situation in the Valdgala area and in the Puza area of the Ventspils Region, it was ascertained that the active phase of the fire had ended – there was no smoldering, smoke in the perimeter, there were no dangerous factors affecting the surrounding residents.
The fire extinguishing was long and complicated, but at the moment no large resources are required, and the monitoring of the situation was transferred to the State Forest Service (SFS)
SFRS thanks for cooperation of all who took part in extinguishing the fire.
The fire in the Valdgala area began on July 17. Its area was more than 1000 hectares.
