The multinational team of the KGB of the Latvian SSR recruited agents among the multinational population of the Latvian SSR — and did this under the guidance of their Latvian chiefs.
As is known, it is strongly forbidden in Latvia to deny the very fact of the “Soviet occupation”, and the ruling people adopted a special law regarding the fact five years ago. But in this case, a logical question arises – who exactly carried out this very “occupation”. Who specifically set the rules for the inhabitants of the “occupied territory” in the name of the Soviet authorities, who checked their strict execution and punished for disobedience.
And using the example of freshly opened sacks, we once again see that it was the representatives of the Latvian people who were not only carrying out the “occupation regime” as ordinary executors, but they were also leading this process.
Latvians had an overwhelming majority in the Supreme Soviet of the Latvian SSR, the highest legislative body of the “occupying power”, in modern terminology, and the Council of Ministers of the Latvian SSR, the highest occupying executive body.
After the opening of the KGB cards, everyone could see for themselves that the Latvians were also in charge of the main punitive body of this “occupation”.
People from the high offices of the occupying authorities successfully moved to no less high offices of modern Latvia. And they teach life and require loyalty to the same people that they taught and punished during Soviet times.
So it is not surprising that all the governments and parliaments of Latvia after 1991 consistently and resolutely made efforts to overcome the consequences of the occupation and punish the occupiers.
