Raimonds Vejonis, the president of Latvia, is ready to dismiss parliament if decisions of parliament will threaten sovereignty and safety of the country.

According to the head of state, Russia’s attempts to influence decision-making in Latvia today have not been successful.

He also believes that it is extremely unlikely that the Latvian government will take decisions that are contrary to the national interests of the country.

Answering questions about the probability of the invasion of “green men”, Vejonis says that if necessary, the Latvian army is ready to use the firepower against the invaders.

However, he believes that Russia is unlikely to use this scenario, and this time Russians should use other scenarios.

“That’s why the national armed forces are cooperating in the Baltic region, including how to respond to other scenarios. NATO is also considering various options, ” the president said to the magazine “Ir”.
