Riga Municipal Enterprise Rīgas satiksme recently reported on innovation: public transport stops are waiting for modernization – they will be equipped with a special button and a light bulb to illuminate the board with the schedule.
However, this news has caused an uproar of indignation among residents of Riga – users of social networks have ridiculed the Rīgas satiksme company both for the expediency of the “innovation” itself and for the price it will cost.
Rīgas satiksme informs that at the moment a new type of stop with lighting function, pillars and road signs is installed at five stops located on 13 January street, as well as at the stop Grecinieku Street, located ner 11 November embankment. These six stops are equipped with lighting in test mode.
