In the near future, in Jelgava it is planned to build a new plant for the production of tools for autonomous metal cutting and welding under extreme conditions – Firepen.

Baltic Innovation Holding PRO started manufacturing Firepen in early summer of 2017. The Belarusian investor invested about 1 million euros in the development and launch of this production facility, which is located in the Jelgava business park. In 2018, the company plans to produce 500,000 devices, 99% of its output will be exported.

The idea of making this innovative tool was created by civil aviation engineer Igor Engashev, biochemist Alexander Garbus and specialist in powder metallurgy Vladimir Panov in 2012. In 2015, the inventors managed to find an investor – Belarusian businessman Valery Azamatov, last year the plant was founded, and in June the production of Firepen began.

“The first part of the product was purchased by the special service of the US Army SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics), now the terms of the agreement on further cooperation are being agreed. The device is currently being tested by the National Armed Forces of Latvia, and it is possible that next year Firepen will be purchased for the needs of the Latvian army” , – says Engashev.
