This is the largest travel company Itaka in Poland, reports Latvijas Bizness, the application Latvijas Avīze.
Just a month ago, the largest German tour operator TUI appeared on the Latvian market. Now there have been rumors about a new large European tour operator, which is going to operate in Latvia.
Latvijas Bizness found out that this mysterious player on the Latvian tourism field is a Polish company Itaka. This is the only tour operator in Poland awarded with the title of “Big Pearl” in the Polish economy. The title is given to those companies whose annual turnover exceeds one billion zlotys (approximately 230 million euros).
This week, Atlantic travel began selling Itaka tours from Vilnius to Egypt with a free transfer from Riga. “So far I can’t say whether there will be flights from Riga, because now we are still settling the formalities. Information about this will be after public holidays,” said Yulia Rimlina, head of Atlantic travel, to the Latvijas Bizness newspaper.
